Weed Action Native Habitat Restoration Trust has been protecting and restoring native habitats across the Whangārei Heads to Waikaraka for over 10 years. As a small community organisation we pack a lot in: supporting locals to tackle invasive weeds at home, coordinating seven volunteer groups, and finding funding to manage large scale projects in some of our most significant landscapes.
Our core work is funded through Northland Regional Council’s High Value Area programme, and we are now looking for a new Community Engagement Coordinator to complement our existing Communications and Community Engagement Coordinator.
This is a part-time role at 12 hours per week and provides a diverse and inspiring range of influence. This person will spend their time supporting and growing our volunteer base, ensuring volunteers are equipped, trained and welcomed, attending weed work events and working alongside the Communications Coordinator to share success with the community.
Applications are now open until 20 January 2026. Please apply to Robyn Bigelow at robyn@weedaction.org.nz with a CV and cover letter.
